Terms of Service
Effective date: 3 April 2025 · Governing law: Ireland
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Tidy at tidy.ing (the "Service"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
These Terms constitute a binding agreement between you and Tidy ("we", "us", "our"), operated under Irish law. Where you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
2. Service Description
Tidy is an X (formerly Twitter) account hygiene tool. The Service analyses your X account data to surface noise, tweet regret risk, and cleanup recommendations.
Tidy operates in two tiers:
- —Free scan. A read-only analysis of publicly accessible post data, available without an X login. No personal account access is requested.
- —Paid account. A one-time signup fee of €25 grants access to full account management features. Usage is then billed at €0.15 per 100 tweets processed and €0.08 per 100 follows analysed. Access requires X OAuth authorisation (see §4).
Pricing is displayed in your local currency at checkout and is subject to change with 30 days' notice for existing paid accounts.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Service. By using Tidy, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. Users under 18 are not permitted to create a paid account or submit payment information.
The Service is not available to persons or organisations that are prohibited from receiving services under applicable export control laws or sanctions regulations.
4. X OAuth & Account Access
Paid features require you to authorise Tidy via X's OAuth 2.0 protocol. By granting this authorisation you allow Tidy to:
- —Read your posts, replies, reposts, and engagement data
- —Read your follower and following lists
- —Delete specific posts you explicitly select within the Tidy interface
We never receive or store your X password. OAuth access tokens are encrypted at rest and in transit. You may revoke Tidy's access at any time from your X account's connected apps settings, which will immediately disable your Tidy paid features.
We request only the minimum OAuth scopes necessary to deliver the Service. We will not post, like, follow, or perform any action on your behalf without your explicit instruction inside the Tidy interface.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- —Scan, analyse, or target accounts you do not own or have no lawful authority to access
- —Harass, defame, stalk, or harm any individual or group
- —Automate bulk requests or scrape our infrastructure
- —Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features of the Service
- —Use the Service in violation of X's Developer Agreement or Platform Policy
- —Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercialise access to the Service without our written consent
- —Introduce malware, viruses, or any other malicious code
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account without notice if we reasonably believe you have violated this section.
6. Payment & Billing
All payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy (a trading name of Lemon Squeezy LLC), our merchant of record. When you make a purchase, you are transacting with Lemon Squeezy under their Terms of Service. Tidy does not store your card or payment details.
- —Signup fee. A non-recurring one-time payment of €25 is charged upon account creation. This unlocks the paid tier.
- —Usage billing. Tweet and follow processing charges are calculated at the end of each billing cycle and charged to your saved payment method. You will receive an invoice by email.
- —Taxes. Prices are exclusive of VAT where applicable. VAT is calculated and collected by Lemon Squeezy in accordance with applicable law.
- —Failed payments. If a usage payment fails, access to paid features is suspended until the balance is settled.
7. Intellectual Property
All software, design, text, graphics, and other content comprising the Service are owned by or licensed to Tidy and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service solely for your personal or internal business purposes.
You retain all rights to your own X content. By using the Service, you grant Tidy a limited licence to access and process your X data solely to deliver the features you have requested. We will not use your content for training AI models or for any purpose beyond operating the Service.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Scan results and cleanup recommendations are estimates based on publicly available signals and algorithmic analysis. They are provided for informational purposes only and should not be treated as definitive audits. Tidy makes no guarantee that using the Service will improve your X account's engagement, reach, or any other metric.
The availability and accuracy of the Service depend in part on X's API, which is subject to X's own terms, rate limits, and potential changes. We are not responsible for service interruptions caused by X's platform.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Irish and EU law, Tidy's total cumulative liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of:
- —The total amount you paid to Tidy in the 12 months preceding the claim; or
- —€25.
Tidy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. To close your paid account and request deletion of your data, email hello@tidy.ing.
We may suspend or terminate your access immediately and without notice if you breach these Terms, if required by law or X's platform policies, or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Any outstanding usage charges become due and payable.
Sections 7 (IP), 8 (Disclaimers), 9 (Liability), 11 (Governing Law), and any accrued payment obligations survive termination.
11. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland, without regard to conflict of law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts for any dispute arising under these Terms, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence grant you additional rights.
EU consumers retain the right to bring proceedings before the courts of their country of habitual residence. The European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform is available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email (if you have a paid account) or by posting a prominent notice on the Service at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
