Refund Policy

Overview

Tidy is committed to a fair, transparent refund process. Payments are collected by Lemon Squeezy as our merchant of record. Refund requests are handled by Tidy; Lemon Squeezy processes the return to your original payment method once approved.

Free account scans carry no charge and therefore require no refund policy. This policy applies exclusively to paid account transactions.

Pricing Summary

For context, Tidy's paid tier is structured as follows:

  • One-time signup fee: €25 — charged once at account creation, grants permanent access to the paid tier.
  • Tweet processing: €0.15 per 100 tweets analysed or acted upon in a billing cycle.
  • Follow processing: €0.08 per 100 follows or followers analysed in a billing cycle.

Usage charges are calculated at the end of each billing cycle and invoiced separately from the one-time signup fee.

1. One-Time Signup Fee

You may request a full refund of the €25 signup fee within 7 calendar days of the original payment date, provided you have not used the paid features (i.e., you have not authorised X OAuth access or processed any tweets or follows through your paid account).

If you have used paid features within the 7-day window, we will consider a partial or full refund at our discretion based on the circumstances you describe. We aim to be reasonable — if the Service has not met your expectations, tell us why.

After 7 days, the signup fee is non-refundable unless an exception applies (see §5).

2. Usage-Based Charges

Usage charges (tweet and follow processing) are calculated on consumption that has already occurred and are non-refundable once the billing cycle has closed, except in cases of:

  • A verified billing error (e.g., a charge calculated at the wrong rate)
  • A platform outage on our side that caused incorrect processing counts
  • Duplicate charges due to a payment processing error

If you believe a usage invoice is incorrect, contact us within 14 days of the invoice date with details. We will investigate and issue a corrected invoice or credit if the error is confirmed.

3. Cancellation

You may cancel your paid account at any time by emailing hello@tidy.ing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle:

  • Your access to paid features continues until the cycle ends.
  • You will receive a final usage invoice for activity in the current cycle.
  • Your data will be deleted within 30 days of account closure (see our Privacy Policy).

Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund of the signup fee or any prior usage charges, unless you are within the 7-day signup window or an exception applies.

4. EU Consumer Right of Withdrawal

If you are a consumer located in the European Union, you may have a statutory right of withdrawal of 14 days from the date of purchase under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU).

However, by proceeding with payment and accessing your paid account, you expressly consent to immediate provision of the Service and acknowledge that your right of withdrawal is lost once the Service has been fully or partially performed — for example, once you have authorised X OAuth access or processed any account data.

If you have not yet accessed any paid features, your full 14-day statutory withdrawal right remains intact. To exercise it, notify us at hello@tidy.ing before accessing any paid functionality.

5. Exceptions & Goodwill

Outside of the policies above, we may issue full or partial refunds at our discretion in the following circumstances:

  • A verified outage or technical fault on our platform that substantially prevented you from using the Service
  • A billing error resulting in an overcharge
  • Duplicate payment due to a payment processor error
  • Other extenuating circumstances assessed on a case-by-case basis

We reserve the right to decline refund requests from accounts found to have violated our Acceptable Use policy.

6. How to Request a Refund

Email hello@tidy.ing with:

  • Your registered email address or X handle
  • The Lemon Squeezy order ID (found in your purchase receipt)
  • The charge amount and date
  • A brief description of your reason

We aim to respond within 2 business days. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method by Lemon Squeezy, typically within 5–10 business days depending on your card issuer or payment provider.

Refunds are issued in the original transaction currency. We are not responsible for exchange rate fluctuations between the time of charge and refund.
